Insurance fees vary according to the value of the vacation and your age; however, you can pay less than $250 to protect a $4,000 vacation if you are under age 70. When purchasing travel insurance, your benefits should include: Trip cancellation/interruption protection; emergency medical/dental coverage; coverage for trip delays, lost or delayed baggage; and emergency medical transportation coverage. A ‘Cancel for any Reason’ inclusion rider will add more cost but provide an additional level of coverage for a multitude of circumstances.
This type of insurance not only provides a safeguard against unforeseen mishaps that can occur before or during your vacation, but also in the event of an emergency with family members back home which may require your immediate return.
We also recommend that travelers have Emergency Air Transport coverage which is relatively inexpensive insurance in the event that you may need to be transported from Alaska via air ambulance which is very costly. Annual nationwide coverage premium can be purchased for as little as $65 or 21 day coverage as little as $50. We suggest Air Med Care Network.
